Research interests
Strictly protected areas, international conventions and programs on the conservation of nature. The UNESCO World Heritage Convention: development of the principles for selection and conservation of the World Heritage sites, preparation of nominations, elaboration of the management plans, efficient monitoring of the conservation status. Analysis of the existing and potential conflicts between the nature conservation and socio-economic priorities.
Study areas: the Urals, the Altai Mountains, the Western Caucasus, the Far East, the Ubsunur Hollow, the Taimyr peninsula, Yakutia, Dauria, the Volga Delta, the Pamirs, the Tien Shan Mountains.
